Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Lagging & Stuttering
Rather than being specifically developed for the PC platform, this game is actually ported to the PC from Xbox One. This means crucial optimization processes were skipped prior to the game’s launch, which means that a variety of gameplay issues such as lags and stutters might just ruin your Resident Evil 7: Biohazard gaming experience. If you’re indeed experiencing lags and/ or stutters, then you should make the following changes via the main menu:
- Shadow Cache: OFF
- VSync: OFF
- Frame Rate: Variable
- Textures: Medium
- Windowless Border Mode
Even if your PC meets the recommended requirements it’s still highly recommended that you set the Texture Quality at Minimum level. Due to optimization issues Resident Evil 7: Biohazard consumes a lot of VRAM which makes it almost impossible to avoid stutters if you aren’t running the game on a 6GB card such as the GTX 1060 6GB variant or a similarly powerful one, provided the Texture Quality is set to Medium.
