Dropbox Not Working or Opening
Make sure to save and close every process which is accessing files in the Dropbox folder, and follow these steps:
- Quit Dropbox
Click the Dropbox icon present on the system tray which is located at the bottom of your screen. Next, click the gear icon in the notifications panel and choose the Quit Dropbox option. - Uninstall Dropbox
- Once the uninstallation is over, make sure to restart your computer
- Find the Dropbox metadata folder and delete it

Dropbox Syncing Slowly/ Not Syncing
Fix 1: Verify the Dropbox process
If you need to check the Dropbox sync process, right-click on the taskbar and open up the Task Manager and look for the Dropbox process in the list. When you locate the Dropbox process, end this process by right-clicking on it and selecting the End task option.
If you can’t find the Dropbox process in the list then it means that the task has already been ended. Simply relaunch the process.
Fix 2: Verify the files that you are trying to Sync
You will have to close a file which you wish to sync first. When you have closed the file, note the filename and make sure that it does not contain any special characters or Unicode.
You can also try to copy a new version of the selected file after you have deleted the file from Dropbox.
Fix 3: Turn off Selective Sync
In order to carry out this task, you need to go to the Dropbox icon and right-click it and then select Preferences. Next, select the Advanced option. Following that, you can easily enable Selective Sync.
Fix 4: Clear the Dropbox Cache
First of all, you will have to open File Explorer and navigate to the Dropbox folder. The Dropbox folder can be usually located at C:\Program Files\Dropbox.
Locate the Dropbox cache folder and simply select all of the files present in this folder and delete them.
